CDL A Truck Driver - JOB DESCRIPTION

Based in Dalhart, TX, USA, Miguel Dairy Service is one of the largest and most efficient distributors in the Dairy Supplier industry, routinely transporting acids, chlorine, iodine solutions that are detergents, sanitizers and dips throughout the panhandle of Texas. Our sophisticated computer system is used to plan efficient transportation method and route for shipment. With industry specific marketing and logistics expertise, Miguel Dairy Service and Supply addresses the most stringent customer requirements of quality, reliability, and customer service in supplying turn‐key solutions that ensure our customers' Dairy plants are always well supplied. We are actively seeking a dedicated and committed Chemical Route Driver for our Dalhart, Tx, location.

Job Summary:

The Driver is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and safe deliveries of Chemical Products. The Driver provides excellent customer service by collaborating diligently and expeditiously with dispatchers and customers daily. A full‐time day time shift is available.

Role Expectations

 Inspect vehicle before and after use according to company maintenance checklist and DOT rules

 Loading trucks, trailers and filling customer orders as assigned

 Maintain DOT and MDS vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed

 Work closely with customers to ensure MDS meets their expectations, listen to and report customer complaints, concerns or questions to Dispatcher

 Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed

 Assure the truck remains in proper and safe working order and that routine and required maintenance occurs on a timely basis

 Comply with all Federal, State and local laws regulating safe driving and the safe and proper handling of hazardous materials

 Immediately notify the Dispatcher of malfunctioning equipment or condition that needs immediate action and follow up with District Manager

 Maintain appropriate driver’s license with Hazmat endorsement

 Route’s range from 50 to 500 roundtrip miles with an average daily mileage radius of approximately 300 miles from the warehouse location.

 Perform other duties as assigned

Role Requirements

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

 High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

 2 years verifiable driving experience in the past 4 years or driving school training plus minimum of 1 year driving experience

 Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement or ability to obtain immediately

 Clean MVR (no moving violations)

 Industry and related product knowledge, as well as experience preferred

 Basic Computer Knowledge

 Good Customer Service Skills

Work Environment

This position is largely self‐directed and requires understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments. While performing the duties of this position, the team member will be exposed to moving, mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and exposed to chemicals.
